Gifted visits and affiliate links

We want you to trust what you read here, so here is exactly how we handle gifts and links that earn us money.

Gifted visits

Sometimes a venue gives us free tickets, or a hotel gives us a free stay. When that happens, the page says Gifted clearly, near the top of our write-up. A gift never buys a good review, a higher score or a place on a list: we say what we really thought.

A gifted stay only appears in Stays for 5 as "confirmed" if we checked the room and the beds ourselves.

Affiliate links

Some links to tickets or places to stay may be affiliate links. If you book through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked, and they never decide which places we list.

We don't use affiliate links yet. When we start, this page will say which programmes we use.

Featured listings

We may offer venues a featured listing in future. If we do, it will be labelled, and it won't change the facts or stamps on the page.
